The inspiration for this block came from my granddaughters wooden building blocks. A simple but effective block. The block is 13 1/2 " when finished. I have added a picture of the block with alternative fabric choices as well.

Step 1: What you need
1 6 1/2" square ( roman glass jewel )
1 3 1/2 " x 9 1/2 " rectangle ( magija pumpkin )
1 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangle ( magija pumpkin )
2 3 1/2" squares ( tracks yellow )
2 2 1/2" x 9 1/2" rectangles ( tracks yellow )
2 2 1/2" x13 1/2 " rectangles ( tracks yellow )
Step 2
Mark both yellow squares corner to corner as shown above with a fabric pen .
Place your marked squares on top of the orange rectangle. Be sure you lines are going in the same direction as shown above.
Now sew along your marked lines . Be sure to sew on the line not beside it.
Cut the corners as shown above leaving a 1/4" seam.
Press open and trim your rectangles.
Step 3
Place the shorter rectangle you just made on top of the dark square with the yellow triangle toward the center as shown above.
Sew them together using a 1/4" seam.
Press open and trim.
Step 4
Place the longer rectangle to the bottom of the blockwith the yellow triangle to the right as shown above. Sew together using a 1/4" seam.
Press open and trim.
Step 5
Place the shorter solid yellow rectangles along the sides of the block as shown above.
Sew to the block using a 1/4" seam.
Press open and trim.
Step 6
Place remaining long yellow rectangles on the tops and bottom of your block as shown above.
Sew to your block with 1/4" seam.
Press open and trim. Voila! you have completed the block.
