Welcome to Woven

I’m Kelly Dine and since I was a little girl, I have been in love with textiles. My mother taught me to sew at a very young age which nurtured my love for craft and design. Early on in my life I dipped my toes in fashion school, then ran restaurants with my husband Michael in Ontario. Next we moved to BC where we raised our kids Jasmine, Mackenzie, and Cole on magical Pender Island a community full of creativity, caring ,and support. Michael has now taken the position of Fire Chief for Whitehorse in the Yukon so we are now living in another wonderful community in the north. Our family has grown to include my kid's partners Josh and Sarah, and my beautiful granddaughter Adelaide.  I believe in living a creative life and I have always found great pleasure and growth in the creative process. More recently, I have become an avid quilter and found inspiration all over the place. Everyday I learn something new and I am inspired to try a new technique. There is a very large and supportive group of quilters and fiber artists out there, and so much to learn I think I will be exploring for many years!

With Woven Modern Fabric Gallery I have found a way to provide fabric patterns and notions to an online community in Canada and beyond of artists, crafters, and fabric lovers. I strive to find quality designed fabric from artists around the world. Patterns that inspire, and high-quality notions and tools to aid in the creative process. Together, I hope we can continue to weave the beauty of art, craft, and creativity. Ultimately to keep the textile movement alive, modern and flourishing!
